  1. Hello, I saw your posting for Vachel Harding and his wife Mary Parks. My name is Gary Bell and I am a disabled school teacher working on my family history. I think Vachel’s father was Charles born about 1711. I would like to share any family information if you are interested…Maybe we are distant kin. Thanks Gary Bell

  2. Hello Gary, Yes Vachel Harding’s father was Charles Harding (Birth 26 Nov 1711 in Saint Barnabas Church, Queen Anne Parish, Prince Georges, Maryland; Spouse Elliner (Eleanor?) Davis
Death 14 Feb 1792 in Maryland, USA)
Vachel’s first wife was Elizabeth Miles and their son was Edward Greenberry Harding.
Vachel’s second wife was Mary Elizabeth PARKER. They married in 1798 in Frederick Town, MD. First child, Elizabeth (my ancestor), was born in 1800. The family had moved to Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. Davis Harding was her younger brother, born, I think, in 1808.
Have you discovered more about the family in KY and when and why some went west?

    • Hi Anne, well it does seem that we are cousins…and not all that distant. I do know that Davis was born in Maryland in 1808 and became a doctor. He married Susan Kondall born in 1816. I would love to share more family history as I really know nothing about his sister and your great grandmother Elizabeth. you can email me at fantasyland@earthlink.net or call me anytime at home at 818 566-6677. thanks Gary

      • Hi Anne, hope you are still online and working on the family history. I’ve been in and out of the hospital, but doing some better now. I was wondering if you know anything about Vachel’s first wife Mary Elizabeth Parker? Hope to hear from you Gary Bell
