Phyllis, Some how I have not been receiving my daily messages from you since Jan 7. I hope and pray that you are ok and doing well.
I also wanted to tell you that we have a long lost gguncle names Charles F
Moran that joined the CSA from Springfield, Mo Jan 8, 1862 under Capt Weidemeyer and his brother from Osceola. If you google, Henry E Moran, Charles is his oldest son, second oldest child, with Nancy Brown Moran from Ky. The unit that they belonged to fought all over the south and they ended up at the Battle of Franklin where he was wounded and was captured. I can not find his grave nor his name on a list of where he is buried. The men who were captured at Franklin were taken to a pow camp outside of Chicago but that was the most deplorable place with no records. I plan on driving down this spring to visit Franklin maybe we could meet up with each. If you find anything out would you please let me know. I have a copy of his military records from the archives, if you want a copy of them let me know and I will send you copies. I have a lot of history from St Clair co, where the Moran’s settled and where they are buried. Looking for Charles, his dad Henry E and his brother, William Henry. Weidemeyer lost his brother shortly after they traveled through Wilson Creek, Pea Ridge, Vicksburg.
Mary Elizabeth Linton died in in Las Vegas, NM. Apparently she went to visit or live with her younger sister Carrie Pope Linton Gross, my great-great-grandmother, following their mother’s March 1884 death. Missouri death records list cause of death as “brain disease.”
