  1. This was most interesting to me. My grandfather James Thomas Watts met my grandmother Gillie Thomas Huff when they were both visiting Deep Creek Baptist one Sunday in the 1880’s. He invited my grandmother and her mother to his home for lunch after church. His parents William Russell Watts Jr and Zerilda Emily Williams Watts lived near Cornishville in Mercer County. I drove to Deep Creek Baptist Church on one of my trips to KY and it wss really up and down some steep hills. I don’t know how people in a horse and buggy made it but it was beautiful after we got there. Also my Williams great grandparents lived at Dixville. Thank you for the article. Marilyn
