Terah Templin 1817-1818 Marriage Returns – Washington County

About a week ago I shared information about Terah Templin, who preached the first Presbyterian sermon in Kentucky.  Today I have a list of 1817-1818 marriage returns by Templin.  His death occurred October 6, 1818 – it is possible these were the last, or among the last marriages he performed. 1. I saw your pictures of Pleasant Hill Church. I read somewhere that John Linton donated the land because of a disagreement with the Springfield Presbyterian Church. Something about slaves not being allowed to attend there? Forget where I read this. My mother was a Keene, and that is how I connect to the Linton. Tim Nolan

  2. Thank you for publishing this post. Elias Ray and Peggy Lamkin are my paternal 3rd great grandparents. As family tradition has it, Elias was robbed ca: 1837 and decapatated near Tar Springs KY. Thank you again !!
