About a week ago I shared information about Terah Templin, who preached the first Presbyterian sermon in Kentucky. Today I have a list of 1817-1818 marriage returns by Templin. - That Elias Ray and Peggy Lamkins were this day lawfully married by me is hereby certified April 21st 1818.
- That John Slack and Nancy McDonald were this day legally married by me is hereby certified April 28th 1818.
- That Andrew Hite and Letitia Handy were this day legally married by me is hereby certified May 19th 1818.
- That Adam Schooling and Elizabeth Hurst were this day legally married by me is hereby certified May 21st 1818.
- That Hawkins Landrum and Nancy Howell were this day legally married by me is hereby certified May 28th 1818.

I saw your pictures of Pleasant Hill Church. I read somewhere that John Linton donated the land because of a disagreement with the Springfield Presbyterian Church. Something about slaves not being allowed to attend there? Forget where I read this. My mother was a Keene, and that is how I connect to the Linton. Tim Nolan

Thank you for publishing this post. Elias Ray and Peggy Lamkin are my paternal 3rd great grandparents. As family tradition has it, Elias was robbed ca: 1837 and decapatated near Tar Springs KY. Thank you again !!
