John Cotton Taylor died 144 years ago – September 12, 1869 – in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.  John was the son of John Taylor and Mary Ann Hawkins, born in 1795, in Loudoun County, Virginia.  He married first Susan Clark Edwards, November 25, 1828, in Washington County, Kentucky.  John and Susan had 4 children:  Catherine Elizabeth, Edward Edwards, Benjamin Springer and Margaret Ann Taylor.  After her death John married Susan Kimberlain, February 4, 1848.  They had 2 daughters:  Mary Louisa and Sarah Susan Taylor.  The family moved to Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, about 1859.

Mary Louisa Taylor was born 163 years ago – July 26, 1850 – in Washington County, Kentucky.  Mary was the daughter of John Cotton Taylor and Susan Kimberlain.  Mary died at the young age of 18 in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.

Sarah Susan Taylor was born 160 years ago – May 20, 1852 – in Washington County, Kentucky.  Sarah was the daughter of John Cotton Taylor and his second wife, Susan Kimberlain.  The family moved to Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, where Sarah died in 1862 at the age of 10.  She had one sister, Mary Louisa.

Susan Kimberlain and John Cotton Taylor were married 164 years ago – February 4, 1848 – in Washington County, Kentucky.  John was originally from Loudoun County, Virginia.  This was his second marriage.  Susan and John had two daughters, Mary Louisa and Sarah Susan Taylor.  The family moved to Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, about 1858/1859, where John and his two daughter died by September 1869.
