Fernwood Cemetery is located in the County of Henderson, in the City of Henderson, at 920 Madison Street, in Western Kentucky, about seven blocks from the Ohio River. Ritchey and I visited Fernwood in April of 2023. It was much larger than I thought for the area. I couldn’t help but think that the above photo looked like Ents in J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings! Aren’t they fabulous!
Maud Gough, 1885-1891, daughter of Robert and Isabelle Gough.
This photo just broke my heart! What a tragedy to lose a child.

In addition to America Robertson are America Mary Barnett, April 15, 1868 – December 23, 1954; America J. Haygan, 1922-2005; America Hicks Moss, July 15, 1865 – July 8, 1949; America Belle Powell Snider, June 30, 1863 – September 12, 1930; and America T. A photo to show how large the cemetery is – and the destruction that happened in the area shortly before we arrived.
