  1. You have an excellent and informative site. I have enjoyed it a great deal. I must tell you howvern that Edward Mattingly, son of Alban/William Albin Mattingly and Sarah Jane Rhodes was not born in 1858.

Baptized Edward Mattingly, 5-09-1857, by Rev. David Alexander Deparcq at St. Charles Catholic Church. Birth date, 7-06-1856. Sponsor, Harriett Teresa Rhodes. Parents, Alban Mattingly & Sarah Jane Rhodes.

His death certificate #13410, shows the incorrect date for his birth of “about 1859”. Parents listed as Abb Mattingly and Sallie. Cause of death was small pox. Buried at the Catholic Cemetery, Owensboro.

    • You are absolutely correct. I checked my originals and the year was 1856 instead of 1858 – a slip of the fingers. I read through everything before making the final file for the CD, but did not catch that mistake. It has now been corrected. Thank you for your kind comments on my site.

Any thoughts?
