1854 Deaths – Laurel County

In working on another blog I checked the 1854 deaths of Laurel County.  In reading through the list I thought this would perhaps help other researchers of the county.

A total of 34 deaths were recognized in Laurel County for 1854.  There was almost an even number of males and females who died 23 to 21.  One young slave died, as well as a Revolutionary soldier.  In age groups, ten under one year died, eight 1-16 years, ten 17-45, six 46+.  The oldest was 88 years, the youngest two months.  More individuals died of typhoid fever, with whooping cough coming in second.  One man was murdered.  Many causes of death were not listed.
