James Logan Moran was born in Washington County, Kentucky, July 13, 1859, to Linton Lewis Moran and Sarah J. Rawlings. James was listed in the 1860 census as a 1 year-old living with his parents. He would be joined by a brother, William Franklin Clinton Moran, and a sister, Susan Margaret Moran.
James married Martha Jane Green on October 25, 1881, in Washington County. She was the daughter of Basil Green and Elizabeth Jane Linton. James and Martha were both great-grandchildren of Captain John Hancock Linton and Ann Nancy Mason. Unfortunately Martha died just a year or so after marriage, possibly during or after childbirth. If so, the child also died.
On August 8, 1888, James married Catherine “Katie” E. Janes, the daughter of Nathan Janes and Susan Goatley. Katie was born January 12, 1870. They had 5 children: Robert L., Edward, Margaret, Susan and Herbert L. Moran. Susan lived less than a year.
James died August 31, 1936; Katie died a few years later, November 20, 1939. They are buried at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

These are my great grandparents. His name is James Logan Moran. Thought you might want to correct that. His first wife did pass during childbirth as did the child. I was told the child was buried with her in her arms in the same casket. They are buried at St. Rose. I’m not sure where as of yet. I have not found her.
Thank you! I have updated my files and the post! I’ll check the St. Rose burials and see if I can find her.
