William Duncan Cemetery – Logan County

I’ve always heard this cemetery referred to as Old Duncan Cemetery, although the sign clearly says William Duncan Cemetery, established 1815. It was a beautiful day in Kentucky, last spring, when Ritchey and I took these photos!

Mary Sue Duncan, wife of T. A. Linton, born January 17, 1859, died August 3, 1907.
Thomas Alvey Linton, born October 10, 1845, died August 5, 1902. A brother of John Wesley Linton.
Daniel D. Duncan, born August 23, 1833, died February 28, 1910.
William T. Duncan, born June 13, 1781, died January 6, 1856. Honesty, Industry, Hospitality and Unpretentious, Piety, the strongly marked elements of his Character.
Susan Duncan born June 15, 1795, died August 1, 1855.
W. P. Duncan, born October 17, 1828, died September 14, 1885.
William E. Duncan, born November 28, 1860, died June 27, 1898.
Isaac Lunsford Duncan, 1862-1936.
Rachel, wife of B. E. Duncan, born September 19, 1887, died July 6, 1918.
Minnie D. Morris, 1868 – 1935.
In memory of Mrs. Margaret Mackall, consort of John Mackall, born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania January 25, 1790, and departed this life November 30, 1852, in the 63rd year of her age.

John J. Mackall, born in Prince George’s County, Maryland, February 3, 1790, died in Logan County, Kentucky, June 9, 1867.

  1. Quite a treat to find TA Linton’s grave! I will have to make the trek down. I am oe of his great grandsons.

    • He was the reason we visited the cemetery!! My 4th great-grandfather was Capt. John Linton, most of his sons stayed in the Washington, Nelson County area, except Benjamin Franklin Linton who moved to Logan County. I have visited Garwood Linton several times in perhaps the last ten years.
