Catherine Walsh Linton was born 149 years ago – July 13, 1862. Catherine was the daughter of John Walsh (sometimes the name is spelled Welsh), born in Galway, Ireland, April 1, 1826, and died in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, April 2, 1871; and Sarah Hollard, born January 12, 1826, in Galway, Ireland, and died February 1, 1899, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Catherine married William F. Linton, January 7, 1879, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. She died September 27, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Hello, I ran across your web site and I just love it, very nice.
My name is Eveline Tiefenbach b. Walsh, live in Germany, I am the daughter of James E. Walsh jr. born in Caro, ILL., his father was from Powder Mill, Kentucky, for days now I have been working on my family tree and have found many relatives in Hart County, Kentucky. my ggggrandfather was William O. Walsh *1820, +1893 married to America Watkins *abt. 1821, I am trying to find William father, on Ancestry.com, I have found many trees saying that Robert Walsh/Welsh married to Anna Mayberry/Maybry are the parents, but nothing has been found to confirm this. All I know of is that his father was from Wales and mother South Caroline. he had 4 boys, Malen, Cornelius, Adger and William, I also have read that there might be a daughter Catherine, they were all born in Tennessee, but again, don’t know where. The sons show all up in Hart County, Kentucky, I was not able to find any death records to confirm Robert as father.

This project is dear to me because my fifth great-grandfather, Captain John Linton, helped build this church. Many of my Linton, Moran and Edwards family members are buried here. Also, many of the early settlers of Washington County were laid to rest here. In a more modern happenstance, my husband’s father was minister of this church in the early 1960’s. Kindle Book – Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church Cemetery Photos – Old Cemetery – $8.29

Thank you for purchasing this book. There are two parts to the cemetery of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church – the old part is where the original settlers, the older people, were buried. This part is rather small. The newer part is much larger. Only the older cemetery is included in this book. There is a path up the hill from the new cemetery to the old cemetery, at the top of which is a monument in concrete which includes pieces of broken stones. What a wonderful way to display them – and so much better than throwing them away! This book includes photos of all the stones in the older part of the cemetery, and some from the new, a total of 70 names. Included are photos of the pathway, monument stones, church and historical marker.
