  1. I just found your site and noticed your mentioning the family names of Shanks, Dillehay and Carrico. I’m a decendant of Cornelius Carrico who married Susannah Shanks. They had 3 children of which Edward Carrico is who I am a decendant of through his son John Edward Carrico and then Joseph Booth Carrico and then my father Joseph Maurice Carrico. Would by any chance have creditable information as to the father of Cornlius Carrico. I know he married Shanks in Nelson County in 1806 and later moved to Washington County and owned a farm around St Rose or Cartwright Creek. Any information would be appreciated.

  2. Hello, I have some Carricos in my database, but I see that I do not have George William Carrico. Re Don Carrico’s response, When was Joseph Booth Carrico born, as I have Joseph B. b. 1769 married to Amelia Butler.
Perhaps you can help me with my brick wall, My Carrico ancestor Catherine Teresa Carrico b. 1808 was the daughter of Joseph B. Carrico and Amelia Butler. She married General John G. Porter (my connection) here is their family. However, I cannot find anything on General John G. Porter as a General in the Army, civil war or whatever. Do you know anything about John G. Porter and Catherine T. Carrico. John G. Porters parents were my 3rd great grandparents, Philip and Nancy Ann (Clements) Porter from VA and they went to Taylorsville, KY abt 1809. He was a Commissioner and a Surveyor and I cannot find anything on him also. I have looked for over 40 years for Philip’s parents. Philip Porter was b. in Alexandria, Fairfax Co. VA
