Henry Duncan was born 255 years ago – September 3, 1756 – in Richmond County, Virginia, the son of Henry Duncan and a Miss Read. Henry married Mildred Boyle in Virginia, and the couple later moved to Nelson County, Kentucky. Henry and Mildred Duncan had 8 children: Rebecca, Fanny, William, Mary, Coleman, Sidney, Thomas and Margaret.

Thanks for all your sharing. The Duncan family is also connected to my Porter family. George Washington Duncan married Frances Connelly. The Connelly family is connected too. Philip Porter;’s wife Nancy Brent was Frances Brent who m. John Donaldson Connelly. We also visited the Green Cemetery in Bloomfield, KY last year with our cousins. Iyt is possibly 24×24 with a fence around it with lots of briars, and weeds covering the Tombstones and located in the middle of a field. We have a lot of good pictures from there, as my cousins are Photographers. The Duncans and Connellys and Porters all seemed to come from the Loudon Co. VA area and then on to KY. My 3rd gr grandfather was Philip Porter b. Alexandria, Fairfax Co. VA, just outside Washington D.C. and his parents and family must have migrated westward as he was in Frederick Co. Va, possibly when he married Nancy Brent, and later in Loudoun Co. VA before they moved to KY. I sure enjoy your site and all the Carrico info too. I have to find time to really post all that you have sent. If you do come across any Porters ….please share, and thanks for all your work.

Kindle Book – Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church Cemetery Photos – Old Cemetery – $8.29

Thank you for purchasing this book. There are two parts to the cemetery of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church – the old part is where the original settlers, the older people, were buried. This part is rather small. The newer part is much larger. Only the older cemetery is included in this book. There is a path up the hill from the new cemetery to the old cemetery, at the top of which is a monument in concrete which includes pieces of broken stones. What a wonderful way to display them – and so much better than throwing them away! This book includes photos of all the stones in the older part of the cemetery, and some from the new, a total of 70 names. Included are photos of the pathway, monument stones, church and historical marker.
