Elizabeth White Satterly

Elizabeth White was born January 16, 1851, in Washington County, Kentucky, the daughter of Elisha White and Mary Elizabeth Armstrong.  Elizabeth married John W. Satterly at the age of 17 on January 13, 1868.  John was the son of John and Sarah Satterly.  The couple lived in Washington County during their married life and had five children, four of whom lived to adulthood:  Mary E., Levi M., Sarah Bell and Nannie Satterly.  Mary married Thomas J. Royalty in 1885.  Sarah married Joseph P. Burkhead in 1893.  Nannie married Elmer Silas Burkhead in 1898.

Elizabeth is listed as age 9 in the 1860 Washington County Census, the only census she in which she is listed with her parents.  1910 is the last census in which she is listed, age 59.

John died February 7, 1911, and Elizabeth a year later, October 28, 1912.  They are buried in Rockbridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

  1. I am trying to locate any whites that are related to John William White born 03/10/1872 and passed 06/22/1929, I am John’s great granddaughter , I believe his father was William White which was Elisha White’s son and Elizabeth’s brother. Is there any way you can verify that, all the Whites from my grandmothers side are buried at Rockbridge Cemetary which includes her father JW White , her son, brother named after his father, and aunts and uncles. I am unable to verify info they are from the same Samuel Riley line can you please assist me?

    Thank you so very much
    Nancy
