  1. Can you help me. I have that Mary Jane Hill married James Simpson. I also have that Mary Jane Hill was the dau of of Martin Hill b 10-17-1837 and Anastasia Hagan. Another source has that she married 2nd, Joseph Turner. I cannot find anything so far that she was the daughter of Isaiah Hill. Could there be two May Jane Hill, as the one I show below has the same children as listed above. This is what I have in my database:

    • Dottie, the only part of this that is correct is Mary Jane Hill and James Simpson married and have the children you listed. Mary Jane Hill is not the daughter of Martin Hill. She is the daughter of Isaiah Hill and Lucy Murphy of Garrard County, Kentucky. Her mother died in 1850 from childbirth; her father was killed March 13, 1852, during the Hill-Evans feud. Mary Jane did not marry second Joseph Turner – she did not marry a second time. Mary and James are buried at Gunns Chapel Cemetery in Garrard County. Furthermore, Lucy Simpson, oldest child of Mary and James did not die in 1853. She married William Davis in 1874.

  2. Clarification of what I just sent:
Sorry I did not state it right. Correction: Mary Jane Hill was b. 10-17-1837 (her father WAS NOT BORN 10-17-1837) and that Mary Jane Hill was the dau. of Martin Hill and Anastasia Hagan. I have Mary Jane Hill married James Simpson. Another source has that she married 2nd, Joseph Turner. from Dottie Porter Himes dottiehimes@att.net
Please help me verify what is right or wrong. Thanks….
