Mr. Wesley Bugg died at his home near Stewart, last Friday, after a lingering illness of a complication of diseases. He was 81 years of age. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Russell several years ago and after her death was married to Mrs. Harriet Taylor. Besides his wife he is survived by three children by his first wife and seven children by his last wife. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Deep Creek Church, by Rev. Sawyer, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Deep Creek cemetery. Mr. Bugg was a native of Virginia, but came to the county when a child.
At rest. Harriett Bugg, April 14, 1843 – December 20, 1929. ‘Meet me in Heaven.’ Deep Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mercer County, Kentucky.

Mrs. Harriett Bugg, aged 85, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Limle Bugg, of Shakertown, where she had been ill for several months. She was taken to Deep Creek and the funeral was conducted by Rev. Bonny, of Burgin. Burial was in the family lot at Deep Creek. She was a member of the Antioch Church of Stewart. She had eight children, of whom seven survive, three girls and four boys: Samuel Bugg and Mrs. Ann Lester, of Stewart; Charles Bugg, of Rose Hill, Limle Bugg and Mrs. Lillie Norvell, of Harrodsburg; Mrs. Limle Bugg and Thomas Bugg of Shakertown.
This one is just a little confusing. Harriett Bugg’s tombstone gives her death as December 20, 1929. Her obituary was in the December 28, 1928, newspaper – but in the obituary it says she passed away November 20th! I believe the true death date to be December 20, 1928 – wrong year on the tombstone and wrong month in the obituary!
