Barbourville Cemetery – Knox County

Today we visit Barbourville Cemetery in Knox County.  These photos were taken in October of 2016.

John D. Payne, March 11, 1918 – November 28, 1941.  A friend to his country and a believer in Christ.

Letitia Gustin Minton, August 13, 1860 – October 2, 1950.

Jane Hignite, February 22, 1868 – September 18, 1954.  J. S. Hignite, January 6, 1852 – July 30, 1929.

Davis C. Bright, 1848 – 1900.  Husband of Susan Bright, buried in a unmarked grave at Bain Cemetery on Artemus Road.

Susan Brite, December 7, 1846 – July 3, 1934.

Charlie Llewellyn, May 6, 1903 – May 3, 1926.

George W. Hutton, July 4, 1886 – August 30, 1940.  Roxie Hutton, February 6, 1888 – November 24, 1941.  Charles W. Hutton, April 2, 1906 – April 15, 1906.  Everette D. Hutton, June 24, 1904 – June 29, 1967.  Mabel B. Hutton, June 29, 1906 – September 3, 1982.

Humfleet

Mary B. Humfleet, May 1, 1897 – February 16, 1989.

Chester M. Humfleet, November 8, 18889 – December 8, 1986.

Vicie S. Parker, wife of J. Y. Parker, March 27, 1885 – February 11, 1923.

Mary Vaughn Moore, wife of Barton Moore, February 25, 1843 – September 10, 1921.

Sergeant Barton Moore, Co. B, 49 KY Inf.  December 3, 1822 – February 5, 1912.

This is a beautiful area of Kentucky.  Knox County is located close to the border of Tennessee on the eastern part of the state.  It is surrounded by Whitley and Bell on its southern border, and Laurel and Clay on its northern.  Barbourville is the county seat.
