  1. Basil’s parents were Francis Green and Mary Bowles. John H Green was Basil’s brother. I have sources for this info. I think I already shared John H Green’s settlement papers with you, which may have led to the confusion to Basil’s parents here.
Do you have any record or info of Jane Linton Green’s death? I find her in census records in 1880, nothing after that.

  2. On the copy of their marriage bond which is for 50 pounds, it is between Basil Green and John M Moran.

  3. I am looking for records on John Green born 12 APR 1822 Washington Co. Ky, married to Sarah “Sally” Ann Graham 6 JAN 1848 (St Rose Catholic Church) Springfield Washington County Ky.

    • Keli, I believe your John Green married to Sarah Graham moved to Illinois, They are listed in the 1880 census, living in Arcola, Douglas, Illinois. His son James William Green died on 28 Mar 1926 in Christy Township, Lawrence County, Illinois.
I have the baptism records for some of John & Sarah Ann Graham Green’s children: Nancy Jane, James William, Ruth Emily, George Henry, Richard, Mitchell, Rose Ann, Joseph Pius. From the St. Rose baptism records.
You may email me directly if you want. pattyk@aol.com so we can share info.

    • Keli, thanks for stopping by my site! John and Sarah Green are living in Washington County in 1850 according to the census records – he is 28 and she is 22. They have one son, James W., 4/12 living with them. Nancy W. Graham, 49, with children George W., 25, Mary J., 19, and Rutha E., 17. This is most likely Sarah’s mother and siblings. John and Sarah, or her mother, are not found in the Washington County 1860 Census. In the baptismal records of St. Rose Catholic Church in Washington County are the following:
Nancy Jane Green, born 28 Oct 1848, baptized 19 Dec 1848, sponsor Mary McAlister
James William Green, born 02 Feb 1850, baptized 26 Mar 1850
Ruth Emily Green, born 26 May 1851, baptized 04 Jun 1851
George Henry Green, born 06 Oct 1852, baptized 03 Nov 1852
Richard Mitchell Green, born 25 Jun 1857, baptized 09 Sep 1857
Rose Ann Green, born 14 Nov 1862, baptized 13 Sep 1863
Joseph Pius Green, born 15 Feb 1866, baptized 15 Apr 1866

      I hope this helps!

      • Thanks — you have helped unblock the path my cousins (only four of us!) and I have encountered! Some of the census scribble was difficult to read and then again it depends on who was answering the questions and the extent of their knowledge. Much appreciation. If anything else shows up in the ancestry line of James William, John Henry, Francis please keep me posted. Keli

  4. Hey Keli! Cousin Tammy here. I am trying to find out about Nancy Graham but no luck so far. 🙁
