Old Resident Passes Away

Advanced Age Brings About Illness that Results in Death of Mrs. Margarite Leuenberger

The death of Mrs. Margarite Leuenberger occurred last night at 7:30 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Michel, who resides in East Iowa City.  The deceased had been sick for many months and her death was resultant from ailments incidental upon her old age.  She was born in Switzerland in 1845 and came to this country 46 years ago.  Since that time she has made her home in Iowa, living on a farm in the northern part of Johnson County up until three years ago when she came to Iowa City to reside with her daughters.  She is survived by eight children, as follows:  three sons, Will, living at Solon; Delvie of Wichita, Kansas; and Jacob of Waterloo; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Stambaugh of Mexico; Mrs. Fred Schuppert, Iowa City; Mrs. Charles Michel, East Iowa City; Mrs. Louis Munn, Tipton; Mrs. E. A. LeVan, Iowa City.

Funeral Tomorrow

The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock from the residence of Mrs. Michel in East Iowa City and the remains will then be taken to Solon where services are to be held at 1:30 p.m.  Burial will be made in Solon cemetery, in the family lot, where her husband was interred eighteen years ago.
