Nannie Minor and Archibald Cameron Wilson were married 156 years ago – September 29, 1857 – in Nelson County, Kentucky. Nannie was the daughter of Spence Minor and Mary Guthrie. This was a second marriage and I know of no children.

The 1870 Census shows three children born after 1857 living with Archibald C and Nannie Wilson in Bardstown. They are: Nannie (b. 1859), Arch C (b. 1861) and Guthrie (b. 1869.)

If you’re looking for a good story, check out Nannie’s first husband, Godfrey Pope. He was tried and acquitted for murder in Louisville, about 1846, and afterwards ran off to the Mexican-American War. For 11 years, Nannie waited patiently for him and then finally divorced him. He turned up after she remarried and created a fuss.
