Joe F. Carrico Obituary

According to my mother we are related to all Carrico families in Washington and adjoining counties.  However, I cannot find this family in my database!  Does anyone know this family – or are related to them?

Joe F. Carrico Dead

Mr. Joe F. Carrico died at his home four miles south of Springfield early yesterday morning.  About one year ago Mr. Carrico suffered a severe stroke of paralysis from which he never fully recovered.  About two weeks ago he received another stroke which was the immediate cause of his death.

Mr. Carrico was about sixty years of age, and the son of Mr. William Carrico, who died many years ago.  Early in life he was married to Miss Belle Johnson, a daughter of Mr. Henry Johnson.  The greater portion of his life was spent on the farm where he died.  He leaves his wife and one son, Damon Carrico, of Lebanon.  The funeral will take place at St. Rose this morning at 9 o’clock.

  1. He is Joseph Francis Flaget Carrico who married Isabella Johnson. His parents were William M Carrico and Mary Jane O’Daniel. Isabella’s parents were Joseph Henry Johnson and Matilda Blandford.

  2. I am Dottie Porter Himes and this is what I have which clarifies what Rhonda Wathen sent. However, I did not have a wife for Joseph F. nor his full name, so this is helpful to everyone.

  3. I am not related to the Carrico families, but have a photo of my father Charles Neikirk, Tommy Carrico and Mark Peak on horseback. The photo was taken sometime before or during 1940, and my mom said it was when my dad was in Troop I, 123rd Cavalry of the KY National Guard. He would have been 18 years old or younger. The photo is faded and Tommy’s and Mark’s faces are partially hidden by the horses’ ears. My dad had written the names on the back of the photo at some point.
If you would like a scanned copy of the photo, I will gladly send it. I’m curious if Tommy and Mark would have been in WWII with my dad, and would like to correspond with any of their family about their service.
    Thanks!
