Cemeteries

Something New

I’m always trying to think of new things to try to keep you interested – as if gravestone photos aren’t enough!!  This is my first attempt at adding a video to the blog.  We’ll see if it works!

These photos were taken in June 2017 at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Daviess County, near the little area known as Knottsville.

If you hover your mouse over the lower right-hand corner you can make the video full screen.  Pushing your Esc button at the top left of your keyboard will change it back.

Let me know what you think.

  1. Your video is well done, but the pictures go by too quickly for me. I prefer my gravestones in photos.

  2. OK – here are my thoughts: The video is great for scenery pictures but for cemetery photos, I prefer the words because I always read the inscriptions on the tombstones, read the newspaper clippings, etc. In case of a familiar name, I go to my own genealogy notes (such as they are) and check to see if the info on your blog refers to any members of my Kentucky ancestors – so far I haven’t found any. But I am always looking!

  3. Thanks, again Phyllis. Very well done. I’m a “slow” reader so I just paused it. That worked for me.

  4. Very nice ! Please continue with the slideshow often. Slower would be helpful if it can be done.

  5. Very nice; however, I wish I could have stopped the video for a longer view of one headstone. Will now go to the cemetery site to search the name. I think it was Elizabeth Clements.

  6. Loved it! I read most of your posts. I would love to compare notes in your Montgomery family. I think my husband’s from a similar branch… would love to verify. Regards,
