Dempsey Waller and Sally Slack 1804 Marriage

Dempsey Waller was the son of John Waller, born in Union County, Kentucky.  When he married Sally Slack in Washington County, he took his new bride back to his home county.  Union County, on the far western side of Kentucky, seems quite a trip from Washington County!  How did the two meet?  Dempsey Waller was killed by lightning in 1828.

  1. It’s been a LONG time since I’ve done any research in Washington Co., KY but I’m thinking that John Waller and family didn’t leave Washington Co. until AFTER 1806 (when he sold some acreage to my ancestor Richard Thurman).
