Frankfort, Kentucky, October 22 – Special – On September 10, 1850, Mr. Marcus H. Cromwell was united in marriage to Miss Emily J. McMeekin, in Fayette County, Kentucky, and recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in this county. They are descendants of pioneers who came to the state and made their homes in the forests. Eight children blessed this union – six sons and two daughters – all of whom are living. On the evening of their golden Wedding anniversary the family ate by the light of the identical candle that had shed its glow upon the festivities of fifty years ago, and drank wine from a demijohn over fifty years old. Mr. and Mrs. Cromwell enjoy the respect of all who know them, and all guests at their hospitable home receive a hearty welcome.
Through census research I found the names of their children – Archie, Mary, John, James, Charles, Hugh, Rufus and Ida Cromwell.
