Gravestone Photographs from Moffett Cemetery – Trimble County

Moffett Cemetery in Trimble County is on the Ohio River. Jefferson County, Indiana, can be seen across the river. Take US421 north to Moffett Cemetery Road and turn right. It takes only five minutes to be in Madison, Indiana.  Following are a few of the photographs Ritchey and I took on our visit in October 2015.

Lewis H. Rowlett, February , 18 – March 2, 1908. Mary F. Rowlett, May 23, 1867 – December 8, 1938.  ‘We will meet again.’

Sallie, wife of H. W. Fisher, born February 2, 1813, died March 9, 1883.  Haydon W Fisher, born June 4, 1803, died January 24, 1864.

James I. Kidwell, 1859-1911.  Elmyra, his wife, 1855-1927.

P. A. Voiers, February 6, 1850 – July  9, 1908.  Nancy Voiers, January 5, 1806 – February 19, 1880.  William T. Voiers, October 18, 1798 – March 21, 1866.

John Durand, 1845-1920.  Margaret Durand, 1854-1935.   Stella, wife of Lewis V. Durand, 1884-1970.  Lewis Victor Durand, 1881-1963.

Mathias Handlon, October 3, 1856 – April 20, 1916.

James R. Welch, 1862-1934.  Mary, his wife, 1862-1918.

Daniel N. Bray, November 24, 1859 – May 30, 1926.  Mary E., his wife, May 15, 1871 – November 7, 1947.

Sacred to the memory of Abraham King, a native of Charlotte County, Virginia, born November 10, 1766, died November 8, 1840, aged 73 years, 11 months and 28 days.

  1. It is a beautiful place, think I have relatives there. Visited there and Carroll County IOOF and tried at Wright’s Ridge but it was so overgrown we couldn’t go in much because of the wild roses. There were a couple more nearby but can’t recall names.

Any thoughts?
