  1. I am so curious about this article. My mother was Nona May Linton. She said that her father, Benjamin J. Linton, was from St. Louis… The plot thickens… (That being said, I would love to know why my mum had an English accent – and why I also share the same affliction.)

    • Nona May Linton was the daughter of Benjamin Booker Linton and Nona May Murphy. She married Gabriel Aquilar. Benjamin was the grandson of Dr. Moses Lewis Linton and Ann Rachel Booker, both born in Kentucky, and later moved their family to St. Louis where Dr. Linton was a doctor (and teacher, I believe). Their son, Francis Lewis Linton, who married Mary Helen McNamara, was the father of Benjamin Booker Linton. And Dr. Moses Lewis Linton was the son of Benjamin Franklin Linton and Lucy Crewdson, and the grandson of Captain John Hancock Linton and Ann Nancy Mason. Does this sound like your line?
