Today In Genealogy History – August 16, 2012

Nancy Hagan and Moses Filmore Linton were married 174 years ago – August 16, 1838 – in Nelson County, Kentucky.  Nancy was the daughter of Edward and Mary Hagan.  Moses was the son of Moses Linton and Ann Nancy Pead.  Unfortunately Nancy died within a year or two of marriage and was buried in the public cemetery at Gethsemani Abbey.

    • Dottie, Nancy Hagan was Moses Filmore Linton’s first wife, Margaret Willett was his second wife. Margaret was previously married to John L. Kennedy, so when looking for the marriage record she is listed as a Kennedy. There were children only by the second marriage.
