February 29th – not the date you want to be born on – a birthday every four years? At the beginning it would be terrible! But as you get older you could smile and pretend you really were aging only one year for every four! As a marriage date I’m not sure why it would be chosen. Perhaps for the novelty? Possibly the groom thought it would let him off the hook for remembering his wedding day? That probably wasn’t a concern in those days! Just a fun post for the 29th!
