I found this at the bottom of a pile of photos! What a wonderful example of an early 1860’s photo – the high waistline was in fashion at that time, lowering as the years passed. This woman has beautiful undersleeves that are shown off by the bell sleeves above. She has a lovely brooch pinned at her collar. In her right hand she holds her bonnet, complete with ribbon and feathers. Notice the ties to her hat fall to the bottom of her skirt!
