1830 Mercer County Marriage Returns by Jesse Head

I do hereby certify that by virtue of a license issued from the Clerk’s office for Mercer County, I solemnized the rites of Matrimony on the 6th of May 1830, between Charles Wright and Catherine Wilham, according to the rites and ceremonies of the Methodist Society, given under my hand the date above.

I do hereby certify that by virtue of a license issued from the Clerk’s office of Mercer County, I solemnized the rites of Matrimony on the 25th of November 1830, between William Dean and Elizabeth Lawson, according to the rites and ceremonies of the Methodist Society, given under my hand the date above.

The marriage bond for William Dean and Elizabeth Lawson was issued November 25, 1830, with bondsman Elijah Thompson.  The bride’s mother, Susan Lawson, says that Elizabeth is twenty-one years of age.  Consent was given by Catlett Lawson.

I do hereby certify that in virtue of a license issued from the Clerk’s office of Mercer County, I solemnized the rites of Matrimony on the 11th of November 1830, between Thomas Patterson and Dorothy Vanfleet, according to the rites and ceremonies of the Methodist Society, given under my hand the date above.

The marriage bond for Thomas Patterson and Dorothy Vanfleet was issued November 8, 1830, with bondsman John Vanfleet.  The bride’s mother was Nancy Vanfleet, testified by Elizabeth Vanfleet.

I do hereby certify that by virtue of a license issued from the Clerk’s office for Mercer County, I solemnized the rites of Matrimony the 7th of February 1830, between Daniel Milburn and Charity Vandever, according to the rites and ceremonies of the Methodist Society, given under my hand the date above.

The marriage bond for Daniel Milbourn and Charity Vandever was issued January 30, 1830, with bondsman Joseph Milbourn.  Fathers of both Daniel and Charity gave consent in person (not named).
