Bowling Green, Ky., May 16. – William J. Brown, 54 years old, a member of City Council from the First Ward and head of the Brown Ice Cream Company, died at 11:15 o’clock last night at his home at 1103 Magnolia Avenue, following a lingering illness.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Allie Morehead Brown; one daughter, Miss Lavinia Brown, and two sons, Will Allen Brown and Marvin Brown, and father, Dave Brown, all of Bowling Green, and one brother, Claud Brown, Elizabethtown.

Mr. Brown had been engaged in the ice cream business here seven years.  He was elected a member of the City Council on the ticket of Mayor A. S. Hines in November, 1925.  He was a member of the State Street Methodist Church South and Bowling Green Lodge F. and A. M., No. 73.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the residence by the Rev. Dr. A. P. Kasey, pastor of the State Street Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
