1842 Biggers – Sparrow Marriage Bond and Consent – Boyle County

Know all men by these presents, that we, Joseph Biggers and George Sparrow, are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in the sum of 50 pounds, to the payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our seals, and dated this 9th day of August 1842.

The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas a marriage is shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Joseph Biggers and Jane Sparrow, of this county.  Now, shall it always hereafter appear, that there is no just cause to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue.

Joseph Biggers, George Sparrow

Test.  Duff Green, CBCC

I certify that the father of the within named Jane Sparrow gave his consent to the within mentioned marriage by certificate, proven by the oath of George Sparrow.  Give under my hand this 9th day of August 1842.
