Know all men by these presents that we, Thomas Parker and Fielding Butler, are held and bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the sum of fifty pounds current money, which payment well and truly to be made. We bind ourselves and our heirs, firmly by these presents, sealed and dated the 18th day of August 1831.
The Condition of this obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between Thomas Parker and Cassey Butler and for which a license has issued. If there be no lawful cause to prevent the said marriage then this obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue.
