Question, Above says that William Reason Carrico b 7-11-1846 was the grandson of Cornelius Carrico and Susanna Shanks. I have his grandparents were Joseph Benedict Carrico Jr. and Eliz Cambron and his great grparents were Jos Benedict Carrico Sr. and Susanna unknown.
Source for the last two grgrparents were 3 different people. Can you help me.
According to the baptismal records at St. Rose Church William Reason Carrico was the son of Edward Carrico and Matilda Dillehay, born July 11, 1846. Edward Carrico was the son of Cornelius Carrico and Susanna Shanks.
Do you happen to know the how William “Reason” Carrico got his middle name and how he might be related to an older individual named Reason Carrico?
Thanks Don Carrico dhcarric@bellsouth.net
I don’t really know – and don’t know of another Carrico named Reason. I will check with Diann Harpley – she has quite a lot of Carrico information.
I have at least two Reason Carricos in my line. John Reason Carrico, b.1840 in Indiana, d.1903 in Kansas. He was the son of John Maxwell Carrico, also born in Indiana. John Maxwell’s father was Reason Carrico, b.1794 in Shelby Co., KY, d.1878 in Sullivan Co., Indiana. It is speculated that Reason’s wife, Martha, had the maiden name of Reason.
Let me amend my previous comment. The father of Reason Carrico was Charles Carrico, and Martha was Charles’ wife — not Reason’s wife. Reason’s wife was Elizabeth Engle.
