Dr. W. H. Roach, physician, was born in 1833, and is a son of Joseph B. Roach, born in 1779, and died in 1860. His grandfather, Littleberry Roach, came from Virginia in 1782, and was of Scotch-Irish descent. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. Dr. Roach, a native of Mercer County, after receiving the rudiments of a fair education, read medicine and graduated from the medical department of the University of Louisville. He commenced, and still continues practice at Salvisa, where he has won a reputation attained by few. In 1859 he was married to Miss Mary L. Conner, daughter of W. G. Conner. They have one child, a son, now a practicing lawyer in Harrodsburg. Mrs. Roach is a devoted member of the Christian Church; the Doctor is a freethinker. He is a Democrat in politics.
