Theresa O’Bryan and Cornelius Carrico were married 189 years ago – May 24, 1823 – in Washington County, Kentucky.  Theresa and Cornelius had 5 children:  Florida Anne, Elvina, Julina, Ignatius and Benedict Joseph.

  1. Phyllis, just wanted to advise you that the story above about Cornelius Carrico and Theresa Obryan is not correct. This error has been continuing for many, many years. There were 2 Cornelius Carrico’s one born around 1772 and the other around 1798. The elder Cornelius did marry Susannah Shanks and they had 3 children Ann, Theresa and Edward. The younger Cornelius married a Theresa Obyran and then moved to Fancy Farm, Ky where they has a number of children as you indicated. Theresa Carrico the daughter of the elder Cornelius Carrico marred Francis Hillary Obryan of Washington, County. So as you can see both Cornelius Carrico’s had a relationship with a Theresa Obryan. Some one doing research on the Carrico’s made this error and it still goes on today. Please correct your information. Thanks Don Carrico
