  1. My 4th-great grandfather, Alexander Pentland (also spelled Penland) married a Mary ? around 1780; I believe, in early Fayette Co, Kentucky. I have been searching for a very long time for any leads of his wife, Mary’s surname. She was affiliated with the Baptist; records show her on registry as early member of Upper Howard’s Creek Baptist Church in what is today Clark Co., near Winchester, KY. My gggg-grandfather fought in Battle of Blue Licks, and apparently decided to stay and become a homesteader. He was born in either 1746 or 1748 in Chester Co., PA. Both are buried in Fleming Co, KY in Old Hurst Cemetery. If anyone has any info on surname of Mary, I would appreciate. She may have been affiliated with Captain Billy Bush’s group, based on some unsubstantiated info I have seen. Thanks.
