Followell-Miles 1802 Marriage

Scan103Know all men by these presents that we, Abraham Followell and Elisha Miles are held and firmly bound unto James Garrard, Esq., Governor of Kentucky, and his successors, in the penal sum of fifty pounds current money, the payment of which well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, our executors, jointly and severally, firmly, by these presents, sealed with our seals and dated this 18th day of May 1802.  The Condition of the above obligation is such that if there should be no legal cause to obstruct a marriage shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Abraham Followell, son of Elizabeth Baker, and Keziah Miles, daughter of Isaac Miles, they having given consent by teste, then this obligation to be void, else to remain in full force.
