Mrs. Melissa Wright Pierce, wife of the late Rev. W. L. Pierce, died at 3 o’clock this morning at her home, 727 Fifteenth Street, following a lingering illness.  The body will be taken to Greensburg Monday morning where funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist Church by the pastor, the Rev. J. B. Jones, assisted by the Rev. T. E. Ennis.  Burial will be in the Greensburg Cemetery.

Mrs. Pierce was born March 13, 1870, in Hart County, Kentucky, and was a daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Whitlow Wright.  She was married to the Rev. Mr. Pierce in 1898 in Hart County.  She is survived by two daughters, Misses Annie and Almadia Pierce, of this city; one brother, J. M. Wright, Louisville, and two sisters, Mrs. Robert L. Noe, Louisville and Mrs. Akridge, Magnolia, Kentucky.
