Note from Phyllis Brown: In this new year I would like to make my blogs easier to read – especially lists such as the one below. Incorporating bold lettering for the names and alternating different colors of print will hopefully do just that. Please give me feedback on your opinions. I also have a setup for the daily blogs to keep variety. Please let me know if there is something you would like to see in my blogs or any other suggestions you may have. Have a wonderful new year – may you be healthy, happy and successful in your genealogy research!

Hello: I may have written you before, and I apologize if I am duplicating my requests. Over the last 30 years I have written/spoken to thousands of people regarding my search for Bernice June Foster, born 9-27-1926 in Detroit, Mi. Her parents were Rose and Jasper Beckham Foster, and it was Jasper who had roots in the Berea, Yates, and Madison county of Ky. His mother was Doris Kindred Foster married to Elza Foster. In 1927 Jasper took his oldest daughter, Margaret Louise Foster, born 1-5-1924, to live with his relatives. The 1930 census shows the address as the Dixie Highway in Yates, Ky. Jasper and Rose split up around April 1927 in Detroit.. my mother, Bonnie Jean Foster, born 5-9-1925, was the second daughter, and Bernice June was the baby. Bonnie Jean was put in the orphanage in Detroit and later adopted out. The baby, Bernice June, was apparently given away to someone who may have lived in the apartment building at 2427 John R. St., Detroit. Nobody has knowledge of whatever happened to her, and that has been my search for thirty years now. I am interested in how Margaret Louise grew up in Ky.; where she went to school, when she left the Ky. area, and her boyfriends. She ended up in Denver, Co. around 1950 and gave birth to a boy in Dec. 1951. She listed the father on the birth cert. as Roy A. Eastin from Denver. Margaret also went by the names of Margaret Foster, Kindred, Milstead, Alexander and Eastin. She never married Roy Eastin… that was a quick affair and nobody except Roy’s mother and sister knew about the birth. Roy never had contact again with Margaret or the baby. I am in contact with that son and he and I are searching for info on what Margaret (his mother, my aunt) was doing with her life. Is there any help you can offer me in tracking down information on Margaret? Rose, Jasper, Margaret and my mother, Bonnie Jean/aka Gretchen Ann Goeldi, are now deceased. Like I mentioned, I have been searching a long time, but all I need is one hit on finding out info on Margaret, and that hit may lead to someone knowing what happened to Bernice June Foster. Thank you for reading my long post, and I hope you can offer a new avenue that I haven’t tried.

I don’t have any information on your Foster’s at this time – but will check in Madison County records next time I am at the Kentucky History Center in Frankfort! Have you checked birth records? Good luck with your research!
Update of Margaret Louise Foster. Found out she gave birth to a daughter in Dec 1947 in Denver. Margaret kept the baby girl for about five years then have her up for adoption. Maybe she had another child be for 1947???
im thinking ; its easier on the eyes to read when in black and white or blue and white.
Thank you! Yes, that orange was a bit strange! I’m glad you let me know what you think!
