Mrs. Royalty Is Buried At Side Of Her Husband
Aged former citizen of county died Monday morning in the home of her son near Chaplin of cerebral.
Rites at Willisburg
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Royalty, age 83, died at 3:30 Monday morning, February 11, 1952, at the home of her son, Hobart Royalty, near Chaplin, Nelson County, of a cerebral hemorrhage. She had been an invalid several years.
The body was brought to Sutherland funeral home here and prepared for burial and was removed Monday afternoon to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harvey Thompson, at Willisburg, where it rested until time for final rites.
Surviving are two sons, Asa Royalty, Tatham Springs, and Hobart Royalty, Chaplin, and one daughter, Mrs. Thompson, Willisburg; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Nannie Burkhead, Willisburg.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at Willisburg at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. O. D. Kern of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member, preaching the sermon. He was assisted by the Rev. Henry Hedgespeth, Willisburg, and Rev. Jolly, Chaplin. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at the side of her husband, J. S. Royalty, who preceded her in death one year and three weeks ago.
Pallbearers were six grandsons, Harvey, Keith, Eugene, J. W. and Asa Marshall Royalty, and Ralph Thompson.
The daughter of J. W. and Elizabeth White Satterly, Mrs. Royalty was born, reared and spent her entire life in the same community and was known and loved by a large circle of friends. She was a devoted church member and attended services as long as health permitted.
