Waller Bailey Thacker Obituary

from The Harrodsburg Herald, Mercer County, Kentucky

Friday, June 12, 1936

Funeral services for Waller Bailey Thacker, 24 years old, were conducted at the grave in the cemetery at Lawrenceburg, Monday afternoon by Rev. G. W. Eldred, pastor of the Lawrenceburg Christian Church.  The young man died on Saturday, June 6, 1936, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac N. Thacker, Woodford Street, after a lingering period of ill health.  His mother was formerly Miss Lucy Bailey, of Harrodsburg, and he spent much time here where he was very popular.  With an exceptionally bright mind and attractive personality he won friends readily and general regret for his passing was felt by those who knew him here.  He was graduated from the Lawrenceburg High School and Eastern Teachers College at Richmond.

Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters, Misses Mary Ann and Frances Thacker, Lawrenceburg, and a brother, Marion Thacker, Frankfort.

Those from Harrodsburg who attended the funeral were Mrs. Maude Langford, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bailey, Mrs. D. M. Hutton, Miss Mary Clarence Chelf, Miss Mary Frances Watts and Mrs. Arthur Bonta.
