from The Harrodsburg Herald, Mercer County, Kentucky
Mrs. Kittie Lewis, well remembered here by our older citizens, died at Weatherford, Texas, Sunday. She was the widow of the late Samuel Lewis, for many years a prominent merchant of this place. She was ninety-two years of age, and her death was the result of a fall, sustained some time ago. She was a splendid Christian woman who was much loved by everyone during her residence here. After her husband’s death she went to Texas to live with a sister, Mrs. T. C. Hart. The remains were accompanied to this place by Mr. W. D. Taylor, who married a great niece of Mrs. Lewis. Simple funeral services were held at the grave by Rev. Simpson, of the Christian Church, of which she was a member and the interment was beside her husband. She had no children.
Mrs. Kittie Lewis and Mr. Samuel M. Lewis are buried at Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
